Windsor Aughtry has been building planned communities in western North Carolina for over twenty years. We are proud to be part of an area that has so much to offer and November will be no different. Come check out these events that make western North Carolina such a great place to call home.

The 36th Annual Christmas at Biltmore

Every year the Biltmore House, America’s largest privately owned home, gets dressed up for the holiday season featuring a 35 foot Fraser fir and miles of garland. Biltmore also offers free seminars on wreath making so that you can bring some of this beauty home with you. Speaking of taking it home with you, there is also great shopping at Biltmore so why not get started on your holiday shoppping early.?

Ginger Bread House Display and Comeptition at Grove Park Inn

Competitors will come from all over the country to prove that they build the very best ginger bread house on November the 15th and the houses will be on display from November 17- January 2, 2011. There will also be workshops on how to make a ginger bread house of your own as well as a guided tour of the Grove Park Inn.

The 64th Annual Asheville Holiday Parade

Last but not least is Asheville’s Holiday Parade, one of western North Carolina’s oldest holiday traditions. This year’s grand marshalls will be local bluegrass greats The Steep Canyon Rangers. It’s sure to kick off the holiday season with a bang.
