BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
Bo Aughtry is a graduate of the Citadel with a B.S. degree in Business Administration with some post graduate business work at Furman University. Upon completion of college he began his real estate career with Huguenin, Inc. and in 1975 helped form Small and Aughtry, a real estate and brokerage firm in which he was a founder. In 1980, Bo established The Aughtry Company and Aughtry Securities Corporation, an NASD Broker/Dealer, serving as their presidents until the 1988 merger with Windsor Properties, Inc., thereby forming Windsor/Aughtry Company, Inc. Bo is responsible for all commercial development and investment within the Company.
In addition to serving on hotel related boards, Bo is managing partner of several hotel ownership groups and a director of Hospitality America, Inc., a Nashville, TN based hotel management company. He is a current member of the Greenville Technical College Entrepreneur’s Forum, The Citadel Foundation Board, the Board of Directors of The Peace Center, and serves as Chairman of Hilton Worldwide’s Hampton Inn Advisory Council. He was also on the Board of Directors of People’s Bank Corporation as well as served six years as Chairman of the South Carolina Board of Health and Environmental Control.
Active in civic affairs, he has served on the executive board of the Blue Ridge Council Boy Scouts of America, the Greenville chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Cleveland Street YMCA, the Alexis de Tocqueville Society of the Greenville United Way, the March of Dimes and is a former board member and president of the Mountain Bridge Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Bo has been honored as the 2003 March of Dimes Real Estate Person of the Year, a 2003 inductee of Greenville Technical College Entrepreneur’s Forum, one of Greenville Magazine’s 10 Business Persons of the Year in 2004, as well as the 2004 Hotelier of the Year for the Hospitality Association of South Carolina.
