Don’t Miss Hendersonville’s Upcoming Apple Festival

Labor Day weekend is just around the corner, and if you haven’t made plans yet, we may have just the thing for you: the annual Apple Festival in Hendersonville. With plenty of delicious food, live music and one of the best street fairs around, the Apple Festival is as American as, well, apple pie.

Starting on Friday, September 3rd, the streets of downtown Hendersonville will come alive for four straight days of food, fun and free entertainment. The Apple Festival has been going strong for more than 60 years, and last year’s festival drew a record-setting 200,000 visitors to Hendersonville.

If you are looking for single family homes near Asheville, NC, why not plan your trip so that it coincides with this year’s Apple Festival?

During the day, you can walk beautiful Main Street in Hendersonville and browse the handiwork of over 150 vendors. At night, you will enjoy non-stop entertainment from a professional stage, including live beach music by The Original Tams on Saturday night. The festival culminates on Monday afternoon with the King Apple Parade, which is always a crowd pleaser.

Oh, and did we mention there will be plenty of fresh, locally grown apples to eat? From apple cakes to apple cider to fried apple pies, you will find all sorts of homemade goodies and treats.

But the Apple Festival is about much more than just funnel cakes and other festival foods. It’s a celebration of the area’s heritage and culture. Did you know that farmers have been growing apples on a large-scale in Henderson County since the mid-1700s? Today, North Carolina is America’s 7th largest producer of apples, and 65% of the state’s apples are grown in Henderson County alone.

So whether you come for the history, the food or the games, just come see this special event for yourself. And while you’re here, check out River Stone, a planned community just 15 minutes north of Hendersonville. River Stone offers a variety of homes that are more affordable than similar single family homes in Asheville.
