Windsor/Aughtry to relocate to Greenville’s Main@Broad

WAC will be located on the 5th floor

Windsor/Aughtry Company, Inc., a full-service real estate firm based in Greenville, SC, announces its upcoming relocation to Main @ Broad located on S. Main Street across from the Peace Center in downtown Greenville. With a July move-in objective, the company will occupy approximately 7500 SF within this mixed-use development, taking occupancy of the office complex component of the project to 90%.

WAC was formed in 1988 as a result of the merger of Windsor Properties – a firm with a focus on residential A&D and homebuilding – with The Aughtry Company, Inc., a commercial real estate brokerage and development company. According to Drew Norwood, one of the company’s principals and president of WAC’s residential division, the resulting company has since developed over 3,500 residential lots and built more than 3,000 homes.

Commercially, the company has developed diverse projects including retail (single tenant, shopping centers and free-standing restaurants), multi-tenant office, and MOBs along with 14 hotels throughout the Southeast. Additionally, the commercial division of the company employs 12 brokers specializing in third party representation in capital formation, RFP response, brokerage and development. Charles Reyner, BIC of the company stated, “What separates WAC from other brokerage firms is its attention to specific client needs coupled with its principals encouraging personal investment in company generated projects by its key associates.”

Main @ Broad, one of several urban mixed-use projects developed by the company, is comprised of a 65,000 SF Class A office complex along with the 135 room Courtyard Marriott complimented by a 250-bay structured parking facility. Among others, tenants in the office complex include KPMG, Fidelity Investments, Scott & Stringfellow, Nantucket Seafood Grill, AON, and Duke Energy. The project opened in May, 2010.

Russell Smart, a principal and CFO of the company said, “Having developed four major projects in Greenville’s CBD over the last eight years, and had great success with each, this move is very timely for Windsor/Aughtry and illustrates our commitment to Greenville and, more particularly, the incredible downtown that has evolved over the last two decades. We are excited to now be a physical part of this downtown’s vibrancy and believe that the move will significantly increase the company’s market presence, particularly in the commercial arena.” Bo Aughtry added, “Downtown Greenville, due to its reputation as an urban renaissance gem, attracts municipal delegations from all over the country, who visit in an effort to better understand this city’s success formula. Many of these groups stay in one of our downtown hotels, as well as viewing Poinsett Corners and RiverHouse. We frequently receive inquiries from these visitors regarding one of our projects. What better place to discuss aspirations they have for their hometowns, as they match with our urban experience, than in a conference room within and overlooking these examples?”
